Weight Loss that Works

Most of us have learned the best ways NOT to lose weight and keep it off. Can you imagine maintaining your desired weight — without pills, hypnosis, difficult diets, or excessive exercise? When you understand how the basic principles of change, energetic testing and recalibration apply to weight loss, it becomes simple, easy, and natural. Talk to people dieting or those who have lost weight only to regain it, and you’ll find they are likely to be judgmental — towards themselves and others, their bodies, and their ability to stick to diet and exercise programs. Often they obsess about their weight and appearance, paying little attention to the messages their body is giving them. Like it or not, weight follows the same principles of transformation as the rest of our lives. If we aren’t in alignment with these principles we won’t be able to lose weight, look, or feel the [...]

Going from Pain to Pleasure

Hold your attention on what you want to create Sad but true: for many us, much of our lives are spent dealing with pain and trying to get rid of it. There’s pain in every sphere of experience — physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually — but rather than being a beacon that helps steer us clear of suffering, pain often seems to be a powerful magnet that draws even more suffering our way. Many of us find ourselves in a weak position relating to health and a victim to pain. We focus on the elimination of pain as if that’s the magic key to health and happiness. But it’s clearly not. Often our common methods of relieving pain are temporary patches at best. Certainly, we should be practical and seek to relieve our pains with effective methods, and we can use whatever works best for us at the time. But, [...]

Breaking Repetitive Patterns

Carol has trouble saying no. She agrees to every request at work and every favor her friends ask. “I am spread too thin to do a good job and I have no time left for myself. I’m angry with myself for not setting boundaries, and at my friends for putting me in this position. My anger only makes things worse — it is straining my relationships and making it even harder for me to say NO!” The clutter in John’s house was driving him crazy. “I have papers all over and it just keeps getting worse. I can’t find what I need — not even my bills. I feel guilty about the mess, and this makes me avoid dealing with it even more. It’s a vicious cycle; the worse I feel, the more I procrastinate, the bigger the mess and the more hopeless I feel.” Many people get stuck in [...]

What to do when feeling “stuck”

Over our lifetimes, we make a multitude of changes and deal with an endless series of issues — some large, others small, some deep, others trivial. Among all the issues there are a few especially potent ones that make us feel overwhelmed, anxious, crazy, depressed, angry, in a cascade of unpleasant emotions. As a result, we may get headaches, neck or back pain. We may feel general malaise or even develop serious, debilitating illness. At times, the decisions and changes that need to be made are so overwhelming we become “stuck” — we find ourselves in a mental-emotional-energetic state in which we are unable to make a choice or a change. Such ruts postpone our movement into another direction. These frustrating, seemingly “stuck” places, actually contain great power to clearly move from our old realities, and can unlock the seeds of growth into a new, wiser, happier being. These experiences [...]

Choosing Peace in the Face of Terrorism

After the terror attacks of 9/11, Mike suffered from severe anxiety. He lost a friend in the terrorist attacks and saw havoc created in his friend’s family. Despite good diet and exercise, stress has kept Mike from sleeping and contributed to high blood pressure. Mike was driving his family nuts, as he tried to “make sure they are safe” — including keeping them from going to Manhattan unless absolutely necessary. Janice, a generally optimistic, easy-going person, has been experiencing mild anxiety and depression lately. She just hasn’t been herself with no conscious explanation. Yet, when asked if she was concerned about the terrorist threat, spoke of her fears of harm to herself and loved ones, as well as fear of financial consequences. Others, such as Lois, are experiencing no noticeable effects of terrorism or its related energy patterns — the “energetic” — around us. Yet we are all affected to [...]

Symptoms: A Sign You’re Up To Something Big

Symptoms: back pain, chest pain, cramps, hot flashes, difficulties on the job, unsuccessful romantic relationships — indications of a disease, a disorder, an “issue.” Or are they something more, something deeper? Every symptom reflects a disconnection from ourselves, our community, our Source. Each is a way of saying something is wrong … pay attention! A symptom is an opportunity, a call to action. It’s a signal that you are up to something — maybe even something big. However, the symptom is not the actual problem; it’s only a sign. The nature of the symptom is the result of a confluence of factors, from genetics to environment to unconscious triggers. It rarely, if ever, is the root of the difficulty. In fact, while the symptom gets your attention, it usually directs you away from the real issue — protecting the tender soft spot in you that is afraid to change. For [...]
